White Rock Canyon

[Las Vegas, NV]

Today we hiked White Rock Canyon down to the Colorado River south of the Hoover Dam.  About two thirds of the hike was through a deep and narrow canyon.  Not quite as narrow as the Anniversary Narrows that we hiked a couple days ago but it was spectacular in it's own way.  It was about a six mile hike round trip.

As you can see the rocks forming the canyon aren't white so the name of the canyon, White Rock, must refer to the rock/stones on the canyon floor.

This picture looks to the north where the Hoover Dam is about 4 miles upstream.
